Project Overview

Baker's Bay Golf and Ocean Club, developed by Discovery Land Company, is the Bahamas' most exclusive club community, located on Great Guana Cay. The resort features a Tom Fazio-designed golf course, six and a half miles of pristine beaches, and residences offering unparalleled luxury. To enhance their beachside dining experience, Baker's Bay needed a compact kitchen and an authentic tiki bar deployed directly on the beach.

Challenge

Baker's Bay needed a beachside kitchen and tiki bar built to withstand a tropical, saline environment and Caribbean hurricanes — on a remote island where transporting materials and labor is costly and logistically complex. The construction window was further limited by hurricane season (June to November), and the design had to meet the resort's high-end aesthetic standards.

Solution

Modular Culinaire designed and delivered a 160 sqft kitchen and a 160 sqft bar, both built using an ISO shipping container structure with metal stud framing for corrosion resistance and durability. The units were delivered within 10 weeks, right before the start of the season. The tiki bar features wood cladding and custom paint that blends seamlessly with the resort's luxury beachside atmosphere.
